The second sections of free play review

The work section is the informative of this book. In my opinion, the exploration of the power of limits and mistake is the most valuable part. The most impressive point for me is the separation of practice and music-making. The author Nachmanovich inspired me to rethink about the notions of perfection and what does it really means? How it related to music making? In addition, Playing together talks about the group –improvisation. Music is an art of manifestation and timing, whose sound can express the spiritual and emotional changes inside human being.

Amateur -Lasse Gjertsen

Last week, one of my teacher shared an awesome cuts video with us. As a future music educator, it’s quite impressive. This creative video gave me a new idea that you don't need to be a skilled musician if you know how to edit. This is pretty amazing, ha?

I should really try and find a drum to learn it as well and record it!

A Feast of Street Art

Brooklyn graffiti arthttp://www.nytimes.com/2013/08/30/arts/design/graffiti-art-of-the-city-from-the-bronx-to-brooklyn.html?_r=0

Just off the 7 train in Long Island City, Queens, you'll find 5 Pointz, which is the center of the New York City street art scene. After gaining permission from the building owner in 2001, artists from around the world show off their incredible work. Some graffiti is created in less than 10 seconds, some pieces take weeks to finish. It spread out to almost every corner of the world.

5 Pointz, the Graffiti landmark of Queens, attracted lots of foreign travelers to come and promote the development of local economy. Although the graffiti has been rumored to be getting demolished and replaced with high-rise apartments, those are only rumors.

Unfortunately, 19th November 2013! Graffiti 5 Pointz has been erased overnight.
New York Graffiti Mecca 5 Pointz is now just a blank white wall.
Should we sacrifice cultural for the sake of modern social and economic development?
The answer is definitely “no”.
In the age of high-speed development in economic and culture, the contradiction between economic development and cultural heritage conservation is a worldwide problem.

I made a short movie about Greenwich Village Halloween parade 2013

A mammoth Halloween celebration was hold in New York’s Greenwich Village yesterday. It is impressive that a great many participants who were full of creative idea took part in the Village Halloween Parade, which included fifty thousand costumed revelers, circus performers, multiple live bands, giant puppets. It was amazing parade! I really enjoyed it~
